Boy, talk about self congratulatory. The board is stacked with his politicos, that he appointed. Not saying mayor isn't a hard job, but there are so many others deserving of that honor who are not part of the Dem political clique. Years ago they picked people who were active in the community for many many years and stayed away from politicians (especially while they were in office).
ReplyDeleteWhat a joke...that is all I have to say.
ReplyDeletePoor choice by the committee. I thought grand marshall would be more fitting of a public servant or someone who's done for the community voluntarily, not as a paid position and I agree with the other posters that it should not mix with politics. Better to have had him be GM AFTER he finishes his term in office for the town. Not at all impressed with this decision, there are many in this town that are deserving that don't pull a paycheck from my taxes.
ReplyDeleteShould have waited til next year for Mayor Butrico to get such an honor. I find him to be very worthy. He does a lot and volunteers for a variety of causes, but an acting Mayor should never be Grand Marshall. Its such a great day for South Plainfield to show off how great a town we really are! But to make it all about the election in November is just sad for all those involved in the final nomination. Should have used some common sense and really thought it through and not made it look bad on him. Just selfish by those on the committee, but kinda their M-O for some of our more familiar names. Just goes to show whether the board or the schools only a handful are running things for their own amusement.
ReplyDeleteWhat has he done to deserve the honor of grand marshal? There are so many who give their talents and time to our community and never even look for a pat on the back. They would be deserving of this honor not Butrico, not now or any year.
ReplyDeleteA complete travesty!!!!
