Moving the library to an industrial section far from any schools and in a place where there are no sidewalks is just plain dumb. If it does not matter where the library is located (which is what the library people seem to be saying), then why don't we do a regional library with Edison or Piscataway and save some money on salaries and pensions.
ReplyDeleteNo sidewalks? That hasn't stopped building and moving locations in this town. Just cross the bridge to the true south side and watch as Durham Ave will increase residential buildings, traffic, but no sidewalks (Hello Tingley). I bet some of the members on the zoning board have the perfect company picked out for a traffic study; one that donates to political campaigns. It seems that proximity to school is really not an issue when you see parents drive their kids 6 blocks to school. If they can’t get a ride to it, they don’t go. Seems more people are upset that 2 hours of free child sitting service will be out of the way. Tired of this town picking and choosing arguments without any true direction; except the one that benefits them directly and quickly.
